The rampancy of kidnapping in some regions in Ghana has caused unimaginable fear and panic in such areas, with the most recent and terrible one being the three Takoradi girls who after being kidnapped between August and December 2018, are still nowhere to be found.
On “Ghana beye yie” program last week on Vision FM with Nana Yaw Sarfoh, one man who allegedly agrees to be a former kidnapper disclosed some facts about kidnapping.
According to the man, kidnappers do not target only children, but any one they get hold of.
The former kidnapper confirmed that their activities have their main roots in Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region, where they usually held casualties for ransom.
Ashaiman under-bridge is our main area but we can still take the person to a hotel or rented apartment… we no longer hold people in uncompleted buildings. – The former kdnapper confirmed
He added that even chiefs, pastors and priests have actively indulged in this act.
“Some pastors could even hire us to bury some of the culprits under their alters” – he said.
The man confidently said that he is ready to lead the law enforcement agencies to all the people he has worked with and anyone who has ever been in the act.
